Project Awards Ceremony!

It was a full day of celebrations this past Saturday! From E3 awards ceremony, Volunteer appreciation party at Woodbine Beach to our NIU! and PAT awards ceremony in the evening, all our organizers, participants and volunteers came together to celebrate the success of all our projects! Annual Awards…Nominations!

Want to show some appreciation to your fellow PUYO-ers? This year, the brand new PUYO Annual Awards Program is launched to recognize our superstars and unsung heroes who went above and beyond their roles. It is done through a nominations process, where any PUYO members can submit nominations and be nominated. Awards will be presented at our Annual General Meeting on September 29th.

UPCOMING EVENTS IN SEPTEMBER

PUYO @ RBC Markham- Milliken Children’s Festival

On September 8th, RBC Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival is celebrating its 15th year at theMarkham Civic Centre! It is Ontario’s largest annual children’s festival that features a wide variety of entertainment, play zones, crafts and other outdoor activities. The event attracts families from all across Markham. In the past few years, attendance has reached record highs of over 30,000! PUYO will be hosting a game booth at this event so join us in fundraising for Justin of Make-A-Wish to help send him to Disney World! If you can lend a hand, please email Cheryl at cheryl.ng@power-unit.org - see you all there!

Kollaboration (PUYO SPIRIT EVENT)

Sad that summer is coming to an end? Don’t worry, PUYO has got you covered!

We’ll be having our annual Spirit Event at Kollaboration Toronto on September 15th! Every year, Kollaboration celebrates the soulful Asian community in Toronto through Canada’s Largest Asian-Canadian talent show. Contestants have been preparing all summer for the chance to convert their dreams to reality. An all-star line-up of Asian-American stars from all across North America have been brought together, and are ready to deliver an exciting performance.

Date: Saturday, September 15th
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Place: The Toronto Centre for the Arts, 5040 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON M2N 6R8

6 finalist groups will be competing for a $1000 dollar cash prize and to open up for the Clara C and David Choi concert! Guest Performers Include: Joseph Vincent, Dumbfoundead & DJ Zo, KRNFX.

PUYO @ Harbourfront’s Fortune Cooking

PUYO is bringing our artistic flavour to Harbourfront via our Paint-A-Thon’s paper dolls, canvas painting, and sugar art demonstration!  We’ll be giving patrons attending Fortune Cooking an interactive artistic experience at our 20x20ft booth!  If you’ve missed this at our Paint-A-Thon event at Night It Up!, you better not miss it this time!

Annual General Meeting

ALL members are welcomed to attend our Annual General Meeting! Not only will we be discuss new constitutional changes, the elections will be held at this meeting and we will be welcoming the new Exec team of 2013! The Annual Awards will be presented here as well!

PUYO @ TCCSA’s Longest Dancing Dragon to break Guinness World Record

Our community partner, TCCSA, is organizing aGuinness World Records’ breaking attempt for the“Longest Dancing Dragon” and PUYO has joined in on this historic moment!
